Ryan was quick throughout testing, and he showed glimpses of what he could achieve at Phillip Island. He did well and claimed 16th on the grid, just three places behind Montella. In Race 1, Ryan took 13th place to secure his first WorldSBK points before following that up with 15th in Race 2; he finished in the same position in the Superpole Race.
Ryan's thoughts on his race weekend.
Race One
Overall really happy, finishing P13, in the points, so not a bad job.
It was probably the toughest race conditions of my career, 100% the hottest race I have ever experienced. I had a dry mouth and was struggling to breath which made things tougher than excpected.
Superpole Race
The weather wasn’t as hot as yesterday but the first few laps were! I managed to avoid the incident with Gerloff and ended up following Toprak for 7 or 8 laps.

Race Two
We improved in the race my pace was better, the feeling was better and one mistake at turn one when I was in P13, because the wind nearly blew me off the track and I dropped to P15.

Overall
First time in Australia, I am leaving Phillip Island feeling happy, being the rookie with the least amount of experience here, I think I have done a decent job. The next group are only a couple of tenths faster and we just need to find that last little bit, but we are getting there.
