Ryan and the Motorcosa Team headed to Portimão for Round Two after the 4-week break from Round One in Australia. Overall, it was a positive weekend. Changes on the bike to get the feel right for Ryan, and every session, he improved lap times and confidence on a track he hadn't raced at for 7 years.

Overall, I am happy. We progressed throughout the weekend. We had a strange crash in FP3, one of those things. We got away with minor injuries for where the crash was, no broken bones, at least! We went on to have three solid races. In the last race, I was really happy. We made great progress, and our pace was much better. I'm more pleased with that than the points on the board.
Importantly, we are working really well together. The guys gave me a lot better feeling with the bike, and I am starting to understand the electronics more. We have a setup where I can start to use the electronics properly, and we are now beginning to adapt the chassis. It's still in the early stages, and this circuit is one of the toughest. We're happy we only had half a day of testing here at the start of the year, and we missed the recent test.
Coming away only 3/10ths a lap off the next group, which is holding some podium finishers and race winners in the WorldSBK championship, on very strong bikes with a lot of experience, so to be not far off when we were 1.2 seconds a lap off at the start of the weekend, we have really closed the gap.
I can't thank the team enough. Motocorsa has done a great job, and I look forward to Assen in a couple of weeks.
